While confusion continues around the value of microblogging in business and how to differentiate its purpose from other communication/collaboration mechanisms such as email, instant messaging and wikis, Yammer continues to innovate in this market, with this news of an integration with Outlook. Since many people live in their email client, this is a great strategy for supporting adoption of such technologies, presenting people with the option of emailing their team as they might have done before, or posting a Yammer message which everyone can see – again from within their email client.
